![]() ![]() Happiness, no matter what their grade, in these planes is limited in time. All planes below it, including the swarga loka, dissolve in the night of the Brahma. The swarga loka is the last mortal plane. Such grades of happiness are defined progressively, till the last plane Ānandaloka, which is also the “inner most sheath”, the ānandamaya kosha, beyond which lies absolute bliss. ![]() Further a 100 such units of happiness in the land of Gandharvas is equal to 1 unit of happiness in the Swarga loka. The Upanishad goes on to define that 100 such units of happiness put together define a unit of happiness on the land of the Gandharvas. The Upanishad first defines a “unit of happiness” (the “minimum whole”) as the total experience of a young, well bodied, handsome man who is wealthy and has control over land equivalent to the whole of the earth.
